Ghosting and smearing with DLSS/DLAA
Moving targets leave a trail and blend into the background, especially in forests and at long range. That makes enemy infantry hard to spot.
In short
Section titled “In short”- The bug shows with DLSS and DLAA on NVIDIA cards; the reporter didn’t see it with AMD FSR.
- Forcing preset M or L instead of K for the game in the NVIDIA app helped.
- It is one player’s workaround: Team17 passed the report to the team, and there is no fix yet.
What it looks like
Section titled “What it looks like”According to a player report from 17 September (RTX 5070 Ti, 1080p): with default settings DLAA and DLSS Quality use preset K, and that is where the ghosting is strongest. In-game graphics settings and DLDSR did not remove it. Why only some players are affected is unknown.
Workaround
Section titled “Workaround”- Open the NVIDIA app.
- Find WARDOGS in the game list and open its graphics settings.
- Under DLSS Super Resolution (preset), choose Preset M or Preset L.
- Launch the game and check moving targets in a forest.
The reporter says the ghosting disappeared or dropped sharply, at the cost of a slightly softer image. No other player confirmed it in the thread. If it doesn’t suit you, try FSR.
Team17’s reply
Section titled “Team17’s reply”On 17 September a Team17 representative wrote that similar reports had come in and had been passed to the team. No cause or timeline was given.
