Season 2: what we know
Season 2 launches on 15 October 2026. Bulkhead hasn’t published the launch time or patch notes yet. Below is everything known as of 7 October, with official announcements kept apart from the studio head’s comments and press speculation.
Official announcements
Section titled “Official announcements”These are Bulkhead’s posts in the WARDOGS news on Steam.
- 22 September — the Season 2 teaser and the date: 15 October 2026. The roughly 36-second clip turns a clear village grey, foggy and rainy, ending on a card with the date. Weather is the only thing shown. The studio hasn’t said whether rain affects visibility or vehicles.
- 26 September — 3 million copies. The team is “working on Season 02 and beyond” and promised details the following week. As of 7 October they haven’t arrived.
- 2 October — hotfix. IR rangefinders were pulled from sale until Season 2. They’ll come back in Season 2 but run on batteries. So far that’s the only concrete Season 2 change.
There are no patch notes. The studio hasn’t named any weapons, vehicles, maps or modes.
What the studio head says
Section titled “What the studio head says”Joe Brammer, head of Bulkhead, has talked about Season 2 on social media and in interviews. These are plans rather than patch notes — but first-hand.
- He has already played the Season 2 build. The season brings new content, changes based on Season 1 feedback, and some features cut before the Early Access launch (PCGamesN).
- Season 1 was kept short on purpose: balance takes a long time to tune, and “we won’t even get it all right by Season 2”.
- He called servers the biggest launch mistake: the priority is support for community servers and official infantry-only, level-capped servers.
- Later seasons can vary in length; the focus is new content and features.
The progression reset
Section titled “The progression reset”Progression in WARDOGS is seasonal: when a new season starts, cash, XP and unlocks reset for everyone. More in Economy basics.
What Bulkhead hasn’t confirmed:
- that the reset happens exactly on 15 October;
- what happens to leftover cash. Community guides say it converts to gold bars automatically, but nobody official has confirmed it;
- which gear leaves the progression tracks. According to community guides, the weapon and vehicle lineup can change from season to season: new items arrive, some old ones leave.
Cosmetics — skins, charms, the Supporter Pack — carry over between seasons, according to the community.
What not to expect
Section titled “What not to expect”This is press speculation, not studio statements:
- “No new maps, major vehicles or new weapon types” — Beebom says so, citing a studio promise. We couldn’t find the original promise.
- That the teaser was filmed on Ozeti, and that seasons will come monthly — also journalists’ guesses.
Further plans
Section titled “Further plans”Not about Season 2, but about the game’s future (from Brammer’s interviews):
- The price will rise as Early Access develops: $49.99 in about a year, at version 0.5, and $59.99 a year after that.
- A console version — not before 2028.
What we’ll do
Section titled “What we’ll do”On launch day we’ll break down the Season 2 patch notes on this page and update the guides: prices, unlock levels, weapons and vehicles.
